Today, my number 1 goal is to get to sleep on time. In this instance, I believe I’m defining “on time” as 22:00, or soon after.

Yesterday night/morning I got to sleep around 01:00

In order to do this, I have thought of a few options:

  • set a cron to shut down my computer
  • use “shutdown 22:00” command on my computer (I actually do this already, when I watch Netflix while I am about to go to sleep)

Now, there is a problem with this solution. If I am doing something potentially important it could be very annoying.

I might try it today anyway, I haven’t decided. That means I have to plan for it. Maybe it can be one of those things that I cron and just naturally get used to wrapping up whatever I’m working on by 22:00. This also means I should get my new blog post on a schedule.

Should I schedule everything in my life? I know some people legitimately do.

I have decided that until I get my sleep schedule “figured out”, I’m going to keep shooting for the “before work” workouts.


I woke up at 06:20. I’m not feeling too tired or drowsy at all! My legs feel pretty crappy but when I get to the gym, I’ll stretch them out and they’ll get a little better. My shoulders are not as sore as I thought they’d be (2 days after last workout), but I definitely feel them.

Overall, I feel well. I have noticeable muscle growth on my pectoral muscle after only day 7, so that’s not bad!

Going to cook myself my regular of 3 eggs and then go to the gym.

When I hit 5 net, I’ll know for sure it’s not fluctuation, but I’m definitely in the momentum of losing weight!

Workout: Chest, Biceps, Triceps (and Forearms)

My workout today went extremely well. I didn’t do cardio, but I did a ton of lifts that should workout my entire arms and chest. I included forearms today as well.

My supplements didn’t screw with my stomach at all today!

My only major complaint, which has been an issue every single day, is that with the additional water I have been drinking, I have to use the bathroom way too much. People say eventually, the need to use the bathroom a lot will go away.


Today I worked on getting set up in a development environment.

I was unable to uncompress their .tar.gz like so:

What the heck? Spent 45 minutes trying to figure this out, re-downloaded multiple times. I finally decided to assume it was not gzip compressed and it worked:

Something that really bothered me is that their download is named .tar.gz but it isn’t actually gzip compressed.

On top of that, their documentation isn’t very well organized or indexed.
